From New York to Los Angeles: After graduating from NYU’s Tisch School of The Arts, Doug pursued acting and music gigs in the Big Apple. He had the honour of studying with legendary acting coach Wynn Handman, who opened up Doug’s eyes to the works of great American Playwrights.
He worked as an actor in plenty of Off, Off-Off, and waaaay Off Broadway productions, all the while performing in clubs like CBGB’s and The Bitter End with RnB band, “The Shakers.” Doug was also one half of NYC based acoustic singer/songwriter duo “Common Cents,” who toured extensively throughout the Northeast and Midwest at colleges, clubs, coffeehouses and festivals.
The Voice-Over pursuit turned full throttle once Doug made the move to Los Angeles. He put a demo together, landed representation and began booking VO work in radio and TV commercials, narration, e-learning, animation, interactive games and network promos. Clients over the years have included Ford, California Lottery, Academy Sports and Outdoors, Honda, Harps Food Stores, Toyota, Leinenkugel Beer, Gusto for HR, Experian, Huntington Bank, Trek Bikes, etc. Doug’s passion is storytelling, and he continuously looks forward to his next opportunity to bring a piece of copy to life with truth and believability.
Doug continues to play live music gigs in and around the greater Los Angeles area. You’ll find him singing and playing guitar in The Desperate Measures, a Classic Country cover band(Check out www.facebook.com/thedesperatemeasures or www.thedesperatemeasures.com for more info), and will occasionally rock out with his old buds, the Shakers.
